Ricky Gene Gilvin, 69, of Morehead, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
Born in Mason County on February 1, 1955, his father was the late Dudley Gilvin and his mother was the late Viola Hunt Gilvin.
Ricky was a farmer who worked as a self-employed mechanic, and had worked for Doyle’s Auto Parts. He liked to play pool, enjoyed classic cars and watching westerns. He loved his family.
Ricky is survived by his three children, Maleia Jackson and husband Randall, Joshua Gilvin and wife Sarah, and Viola (Marvin Hitch) Gilvin; his close friend, Debbie Ginter; his nine grandchildren, Jasmine Fulkeron, Addyson Hitch, Raylan Hitch, Emily Gilvin, Morgan Gilvin, Chase Jackson, Andrew Jackson, Tyler Jackson, and Alyssa Jackson. He is also survived by four of his siblings, Bonnie Dailey, Johnny Gilvin and wife Melissa, Betty Reed, and Linda Bussell; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to his mother Viola and his father Dudley, Ricky was preceded in death by three of his siblings, Dudley Gilvin, Jr., Billy Gilvin, and Ruby Ishmael; and his two brothers-in-law, Bill Ishmael and James Reed.
Funeral service for Ricky will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Randall Jackson officiating.
Ricky will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Marvin Hitch, Josh Gilvin, Randall Jackson, Chase Jackson, Andrew Jackson, and Tyler Jackson.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Monday, at Boone-Nickell.
