Douglas Armstrong Obituary

Douglas Newell "Dougie" Armstrong, Jr., 73, of Tollesboro, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center.

Born in Fleming County on January 10, 1943, he was the son of the late Douglas N. Sr. and Beulah Doyle Armstrong.

Dougie worked at Bobby's Auto Sales for over 30 years. He was well known for working in auto body repair and had his own business.

He is survived by his partner-in-life of 26 years, Dana Skidmore; his children, Anthony Douglas "Tony" (Cindy) Armstrong of Flemingsburg, and Angie Alice Armstrong (David) Cavanaugh of Pell City, Alabama; grandchildren, Alexander Douglas "Alex" Armstrong, Kassidy ( Jeremy) Yon, Kenton Wheeler, Sean Sapp, and Travis Ruggles; and great grandson, Myles Anthony Yon. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie Rosser and Patty (Jimmy) Emmons; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Dougie was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jerry Rosser; his maternal grandparents, Henry and Ovel Doyle; and his paternal grandparents, Charles Allen and Lucy McKee Armstrong.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Cain and Bro. Jesse Hickerson, Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in Mount Tabor Cemetery in Tollesboro.

Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
