Frieda Faris, 77, of Wallingford, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at her residence. She was the widow of James D. “J.D.” Faris.
Born in Lewis County on September 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Hershel Mitchell and Nola Howe Fields.
Frieda worked as a press operator at Randall’s for 40 years and as a cook at Ward Elementary and at the Girl Scout Camp and Mount Vernon Christian Camp.
Frieda is survived by her son, Mitchell Day Faris; her grandson, Justin Wayne Hurst; and her great grandson, Hunter Hurst; her faithful feline friend, Blackie; and a host of extended family.
In addition to her parents and her husband J. D., she was also preceded in death by her brother, Arnold “Dougie” Fields.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, July 23rd, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Porter and Bro. Bill Compton officiating.
Frieda will be laid to rest in Goddard Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Terry McKee, Ricky Bailey, Justin Hurst, Jeff Hamm, Paul Taylor, Kent Stanfield, and Shane Faris.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday at the funeral home.
