Letha Ann Cooley Whalen Gardner, 61, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019, at her residence.
Born in West Union, Ohio on November 9, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Delores Cooley.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Patton and husband, Justin; her son, Michael Whalen and wife, Susan; her grandchildren who knew her as “Mamaw Lethie”, Libertie McIntyre, Darrell O’Connor, Brandon Whalen, Jordan Whalen and Wyatt Whalen; and her great-grandson, Maxwell David Truesdell. She is also survived by her siblings, Christine (Steve) Henderson, Ralph Cooley, Jr., Glenda (Marvin) Dearing, Troy Brumley, Kevin Brumley, Tammy Brumley Farmer, and Lorie Brumley; so many nieces and nephews who loved their “Aunt Lethie”; and her faithful companion, Sassy, who will miss her very much.
In addition to her parents Ralph and Delores, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David Allen Whalen in 1996; her second husband, David Allen Gardner in 2010; and her sisters, Karen Lynn Doyle and Jerri Ellen Prye.
Service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, September 12, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
Letha will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.
Visitation will also be Thursday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
