Louella Sloas Utterback, 71, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, after a short illness.
Born on November 21, 1947, in Sandy Hook, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Berlin Sloas and the late Bessie Deloris Stamper Sloas.
Louella was a devoted believer in Jesus, serving the Lord for 30 years. She was a partner in the gospel group God’s Trio with Connie Anderson and Justine Allen. She loved flowers of every kind and her dog, Brutus. She will be truly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Shawnda Lasourd of Morehead; her son, Shane Thomas of Flemingsburg; her grandchildren, Jeanna Lasourd, Wyatt Lasourd, Riley Cantrell, and Alexander Thomas; and her sister, Justine Allen and husband, Steve of Wallingford. She is also survived by her niece, Connie Anderson of Ewing; her nephew, Earl Reeves of Flemingsburg; her great niece, Megan Ingram of Ewing; her great nephew, Josh Anderson of Wallingford; her four great, great nephews, James, Jack, Jake Anderson and Grayson Ingram; and a special family member, Dusty Conner, who battled cancer at the same time. For 23 years she was married to the late Roger Utterback. She has one stepson, David (Miranda) Utterback, and two step grandchildren, Mackenzi and Ryleigh.
Service will be 1 p.m., Friday, May 17, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Sister Peggy Wagoner officiating.
Louella will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
