He is survived by his three children, Rick (Margaret) Tranbarger, Vicki (Danny) Stephens, and Jeff (Valerie) Tranbarger; and seven grandchildren, Melissa (David Booker & son Waylon) Tranbarger, Brad (Nikki) Stephens, April (Duane) Lowe, Monica (Chad) Hill, Amber (Trippy) Clark, Brooke (Chad) Rickey, and JP (Stacey) Tranbarger.

He was a great-grandfather to Myranda Lytle, Martina Lytle, Sidney Stephens, Noah Stephens, Blake Clark, Owen Lowe, Lauren Hill, Emma Hill, Mason Hill, Benjamin Rickey, Charley Rickey, Lucy Clark and Sadie Hope Tranbarger.  Also, RJ Workman, as a great-great grandchild; and a special extended family of, Tammy Kinder; and brother-in-law, Vencil Eldridge.

He also is survived by special friends, Holli Allison and the Fleming County Hospital Physical Therapy.

Paul was born in Bristol, Virginia on July 13, 1926.  At the age of 17, his father gave him permission to enlist in the Navy, during WW II.  Paul proudly served his country during WWII on the USS Shamrock Bay CVE84. This was one of his most proud accomplishments.

After leaving the Navy, he met his wife of 61 years, Sadie.  They were married in 1947 and later moved to Flemingsburg, KY to build their home.  Paul and Sadie owned their own business for many years where they both served their community and developed life-long friendships before retiring to the farm.

Paul’s church family and his faith were also a defining part of his life.  He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Church for over 60 years, where he served as an elder.  Paul taught his family to serve the Lord with a servant’s heart and always follow Christ.

Paul loved to farm, hunt, and most importantly, he loved his family.  He rarely missed a graduation, special event or a ballgame.  He loved the Flemingsburg community, where it was not uncommon to see him traveling around town during his daily visit to Sadie’s grave site.  Paul demonstrated selflessness, kindness, and loved everyone beyond measure.  His life goal of being reunited with his spouse, Sadie, allows everyone to rejoice and honor his life here on earth.
