Ruby Parker Prather, 99, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home. She was the widow of Elmer Thomas “Bud” Prather.
Born on February 11, 1919, in Grant County, she was a daughter of the late Ned and Elizabeth Mae “Lizzie” Irvin Parker.
Ruby is survived by her brother, Preston Parker and wife Janet of May’s Lick; and her sisters, Mildred Gilchrist of Maysville and Nancy Jessee of Flemingsburg. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family members and friends.
In addition to her husband Bud and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl Tilman Parker, LeRoy Parker, Ray Parker, Raymond Parker, Henry Parker, and Dan Chester Parker.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 11th, at Mt. Carmel Christian Church with Bro. Steve Singer officiating.
Ruby will be laid to rest in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Joshua Hester, Tim Medwid, Chris Ross, Matthew Ross, Jeff Martin and Jeff Vice.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the church.
