Obituary

Alicia Dawn Herrington, 34, completed her earthly journey, on Monday, November 2, 2015, at Hospice of Hope in Maysville, Ky.

Alicia was born June 7, 1981, in Maysville to Larry and Linda (Ruggles) Herrington, of Ewing, Ky.

She was a 1999 graduate of Fleming County High School. She was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Fairview, where she was an "honorary" choir member. She loved "her" Jesus, music, her Kentucky Wildcats basketball, and family and friends. On her 25th birthday in 2006, she was named a Kentucky Colonel.

Besides her parents, Alicia leaves behind to celebrate her life, her second "Mom", "Auntie", Pauline Willis, of Ewing; brother, Jonathan (Kelly) Herrington, of Nicholasville; cousin/sister, Rose Ann (Randall) Deaton of Hazard, half-brother, Jason (Dana) Herrington of Nicholas County, half-sister, Jessica (Jr) Hunt of Nicholas County; aunts, Betty Davis, Ida Mae Ruggles, and Florence (Steve) Hickerson, of Flemingsburg, Mary (Jimmie) Emmons of Hillsboro, Ethel Ruggles of Maysville, and Rhonda (Mike) Gray of Walton, Ky.; several cousins, her church family and many friends.

Alicia was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Johnny and Rose Ruggles; paternal grandparents, Fant and Imogene Herrington; her uncle, Frankie Ruggles; cousin, Kimmie Alderman; and many friends, all of whom will be waiting on her as she walks through Heaven's gates.

A celebration of Alicia's life will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015, at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Fairview. Bro. Jeremy Moore and Bro. Todd Wiley will be officiating. Alicia's earthly resting place will be at the Sunset Memorial Park in Flemingsburg. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday at the church and 11 to 1 p.m., Saturday.

Norman Ellison, Johnny Wallingford, Billy Getz, Jerry Dixon, Kelly Walker, Mike Gray, Jonathan Herrington, and Larry Herrington will serve as pall bearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Hammonds, Bill Leet, Roy Dotson, and Greg Hughes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Building Fund (C/O Patricia Tolliver, 198 Dogwood Drive, Ewing, Kentucky 41039) or Hospice of Hope (909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, Kentucky 41056).
