IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony Perry "Tony"
Overbey
June 2, 1940 – September 27, 2017
Anthony Perry Overbey, 77, of Flemingsburg, passed this life on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, after a long illness.
Known to his family and friends as Tony, he was the son of Dr. Perry and Evelyn Harber Overbey of Mount Olivet.
Tony was the retired President and CEO of Fleming Mason Energy. He was a member of Elizaville Christian Church, where he served as a deacon for 20 years. Tony graduated from Deming High School in 1959 and was a 1963 graduate of the University of Kentucky where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order fraternity. He enjoyed travelling, and after retiring, was blessed to have had the opportunity to spend a month on the Amalfi Coast in Italy – a place he called his favorite. Fishing and golfing were lifelong pastimes, and the "Robertson County Open" was celebrated yearly by Tony, Bob Sims, Richard Sims, and Lloyd Wells.
He leaves behind his wife, Olivia; his daughter, Dr. Evelyn (Jim) Perry of Louisville; his daughter, Whitney (Eric) Adams of Lexington; and his son, Nathaniel Perry Overbey III of Indiantown, FL. Tony "Paps" also leaves behind the joys of his life, his "babies", Emma Carter and Jack Anthony O'Brien, and Samuel Thompson Perry. His brother-in-law, Lucien (Kathie) Johnson and his lifelong friend, Bob (Dorothea) Sims both gave him so much love and support during his long illness.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 14th, at Elizaville Christian Church located at 53 Hilltop Road, Ewing, Kentucky 41039.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m., Friday, October 13th at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Elizaville Christian Church (C/O Chuck Brown, 1872 Mockingbird Hill, Flemingsburg, KY 41041), Kenya Relief (online: KenyaRelief.org or mail: 101 1st Ave NE Suite 200, Cullman AL 35055), and/or the charity of one's choice.
