April Dawn Wheeler, 41, of Tilton, passed away peacefully at the Markey Cancer Center Hospice of Hope on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

Born in Morehead, Ky. on May 5, 1983, her father was the late Rufus Wheeler, Sr. and her mother was the late Kathleen Castle Wheeler.

April was a faithful member of the Tilton United Methodist Church.  She was a very creative person who loved her music.  She loved Japanese culture and anime.

April is survived by her two brothers, Rufus Wheeler, Jr. of Flemingsburg and Patrick Ernest Wheeler of Tilton; a special niece, Angel Marie Tschaenn and husband Kyle of Goddard; her niece, Desiree Spivey and her children; her two cats, Snowflake and Moko; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her mother Kathleen and her father Rufus, April was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Dean Wheeler; her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Ivy Castle; and her paternal grandparents, Jessie and Sylvia Wheeler.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Sister Gail Skaggs officiating.

April will be laid to rest in Hillsboro Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Rufus Wheeler, Jr. Patrick Wheeler, Kyle Tschaenn, Derek Salyer, Ethan Duncan, and Keegan Duncan.  Honorary pallbearers include Angel Tschaenn,  Carrie Duncan, Jason Duncan, Trish Reeves, Jamie Salyer, Ralph Castle, Randy Castle, and Glenn Castle.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
