Arthur Mark "Marty" Taylor, 69, of Flemingsburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday,December 18, 2025,at his home, surrounded by family.
Born in Augusta, Georgia on February 25, 1956, Marty was a son of the late James L. Taylor and the late Virginia A. Holton Taylor.
Marty grew up being used to traveling and moving to new places since his father's career involved moving from time to time, but he spent most of his life in Georgia. Marty had a carefree spirit. He could find humor in any situation, and he kept his humor until his time here was done. He had many hobbies that he enjoyed greatly. He loved college football. He was a die-hard Georgia Bulldog fan. He loved NASCAR, riding motorcycles, and he loved growing flowers for his wife, Theresa. Marty had strong opinions and he was not afraid to voice them. Despite his grumpy exterior, Marty had a kind heart. He loved his children and grandchildren very much.
Marty is survived by his wife, Theresa Sandefur Taylor; his five children, Joshua Taylor and wife Jackie of Ga., Brody Taylor and partner Tysun of Ga., Lisa Weinert and husband Jeromey of Ky., Jonna Smith of Ga., Chris Smith and wife Jalen of Wash.; his 12 grandchildren; his brother, James L Taylor Jr. and wife Melva of Ga.; and his aunt, Mary Holton-Marschalk of Ga.
In addition to his mother Virginia and his father James, Marty was preceded in death by his brother, Paul H. Taylor.
A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Family Worship Center, with Bro. David Hickerson, Bro. Kevin Hickerson, and Bro. Jody Emmons officiating. Family Worship Center is located at 17974 Morehead Road, Wallingford, KY 41093.
In place of flowers and gifts, please consider a donation in memory of Marty to the Cancer Care Club (P O Box 189, Flemingsburg, Kentucky 41041).
