Obituary

Baine M. "Sonny" Clark, 86, of Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his residence.


Born in Fleming County on July 21, 1938, his father was the late James Clark and his mother was the late Jeanette McVey Clark.


Sonny was a retired government contractor who had worked as a refrigeration mechanical contractor.  He belonged to the Ewing Favorite 581 Masonic Lodge, the Flemingsburg Masonic Lodge 112, the Maysville Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 1564, the Maysville Moose Lodge 1124, the Franklin Sousley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1834, and the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5.   He had proudly served his country in the United States Army.


Sonny is survived by his wife, Clair Powers Clark; his five children, James Roy Clark and wife Paula of Maysville, Chuck Powers and wife Trish of Tampa, Fla., Tony Clark of Palmer, Alaska, James Powers of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Sretta Clark of Campbellsville.   He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, McKenzie, Jackson, Maddie, Tony, Mark, Lindsey, Jillian, and Katlin; his eight great grandchildren, and his five great, great grandchildren.  In addition, Sonny is survived by his two brothers, David Clark and wife Donna of Muses Mill and Joe Clark of Maysville; along with many extended family members and friends.


In addition to his mother Jeanette and his father James, Sonny was preceded in death by four of his siblings, James Clark, Bill Clark, Elizabeth Scott Clark Pryor, and John Clark.


The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, December 16, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, with Pastor John Foxx officiating.


Sonny will be laid to rest in rest in Elizaville Cemetery.


W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 will be performing military rites.


Pallbearers include Chad Boblett, Tony Clark, James Clark, Bill Story, Danny Carrier, Chuck Powers, and Bill Clark.


Visitation will be from 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1p.m.., Monday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041
