Barbara Ellen Swim Brown, 82, passed away Sunday April 13, 2014 at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.

She was born December 27, 1931 on Long Hungry Branch in Bluestone, KY to the late John and Morty Swim.

Barbara was a housewife, helped her husband run the saw mill, arranged flowers at Morehead Floral and been a car hop in her younger years. Barbara was a member of the Fox Valley Community Church.

Barbara loved nature and all the beauty God created, her church, her grandkids great and great great. She especially loved spring and her fondest dream was of going home to see daddy – her husband of 56 years.

Survivors include her daughter Deborah K. Brown (Jay Sexton); grandchildren William (Jenny) Hammond, Brenda (David) Rudd, Melinda (Mike) Steel, Rebecca Hammond, David Brown and Bobby Joe (Tina) Brown; step granddaughter Amanda (Andy) Logan; great grandchildren Derek (Hannah) Rudd, Alex (Liyah) Rudd, Cody (Jordan) Hester, Samantha Jo (Kyle) Lynch, Emily Jane Steele, Blake Steele, Ashta (Ricky) Stevens, Katie Hammond, Alexis Logan, Ethan Brown, Ashley Brown, James, Brown, Zelda Stentnger; great great grandchildren Noah Blake Rudd, Alexis and Peyton Stevens; sister Audrey Elliot.

She was preceded in death by her husband Milford Bill Brown; daughter Judith Dale Brown; sons David Kirby and Larry Neil Brown; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral Services will be at 1 PM Thursday April 17, 2014 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Fouch Officiating. Visitation will be 6 - 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hammond Family Cemetery.
