Bessie Deloris Sloas, 82, of Flemingsburg passed away Saturday morning March 19, 2011 at Fleming County Hospital after a short illness. She was born November 11, 1928 in Sandy Hook, KY to the late Green and Nan Howard Stamper. She was the owner and operator of Sloas Grocery in Goddard, KY FOR 20 years then retiring in 1982. She attended the Bluebank Methodist Church and loved playing bingo in Flemingsburg. She was preceded in death by her husband Berlin Sloas, 6 brothers and 3 Sisters.

Justine (Steve) Allen of Fox Valley, KY

1 Sister: Melba Barker of Flemingsburg, KY

4 Grandchildren: Connie (Reeves) Anderson of Ewing, Shawna (Thomas) Lasword of Morehead, Earl Reeves of Flemingsburg, Shane Thomas of Morehead

2 Step Grandchildren: David (Miranda) Utterback of Mt. Carmel and Chris Allen of Owingsville

4 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Wednesday March 23, 2011 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 - 9 PM Tuesday. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
