Betty Ann Dyer, 76, of Wallingford, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025, at UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Born in Fleming County on March 14, 1949, Betty was the daughter of the late Ernest Rufus "Hoop" McClanahan and the late Sara Alice Gulley McClanahan.
Betty had worked as a cook at Sorrell's Restaurant and as a stay-at-home Granny Mom. She was a member of the Bald Hill Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William "Billy" Dyer; her two sons, Doug (Marinda) Dyer and Terry (Julie) Dyer; her eight grandchildren, Allison (Jason "Bub") Thurman, Bridget Dyer, Shyann Bush, Gracie Dyer, William Dyer, Donald Dyer, Makayla Graves, and Devin Graves; her two great grandchildren; Kasen Thurman and Johnathan Buckley; and one great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her sister, Ruby Lucas; a special nephew Dustin Dyer; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her mother Sara and her father Hoop, Betty was preceded in death by three of her siblings, Tommy McClanahan, Beulah McClanahan, and Patty McClanahan.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Jason "Bub" Thurman and Bro. Rusty Evans officiating.
Betty will be laid to rest in Wallingford Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Tommy Swim, Jeff Harmon, Dustin Dyer, Rusty Evans, John Little, and Jason Thurman, Sr. Honorary pallbearers include Darrell Dyer, Ronnie Day, Terry Hardy, and Delbert Johnson.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Wednesday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
