Betty Jo Hamm Hickerson, 69, went on to be with her Lord and Savior on, Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY after a brief illness. She worked as a caregiver and was a loving mother and homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William Leslie "Jay" Hickerson.

Also surviving are her children Wayne (Linda) Hickerson, of Fleming County, Barry (Michelle) Hickerson of Tollesboro, & Jason (Ginny) Hickerson also of Fleming County, eleven grandchildren, a special nephew, Elwood Bolar, and two sisters, Ruth Muse and Verna Lee Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maggie Fite Hamm, a daughter Lori Catania, two brothers, Lloyd Hamm and Willard Hamm, and two sisters, Rosetta Stanfield and Agatha Jones.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday July 5, 2013 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Wallingford Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
