Betty Joyce Doyle Mitchell, 48 of Flemingsburg went to be with her heavenly father Monday evening November 28, 2011. She was born May 22, 1963 in Maysville to the Melvin Presley Doyle and Anna Lee Davis Doyle. On October 29, 1982 Betty married Jackie Layne Mitchell. Jackie and Betty had two beautiful children Julie Nicole Mitchell Ovington & Steven Layne Mitchell. On October 21, 2003 Betty and Jackie welcomed a beautiful granddaughter, Mallory Jade Gardner into their lives. In 2007, Betty was diagnosed with colon cancer. She lived the last five years of her life with a smile on her face and praising her savior even when the pain was unbearable.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, 3 brothers Darrell, Jerry, and Doug Doyle, one sister Teresa Doyle Tester, and her in-laws Elmer "Buddy" Mitchell and Louise Mitchell.

She is survived by her mother, her husband, two children, granddaughter and a sister Margaret "Maggie" Stewart. And many wonderful friends and extended family members.

Betty was a member of the Flemingsburg Church of the Nazarene. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Thursday December 1, 2011 at the Flemingsburg Nazarene Church with Rev Larry Ingram and Rev Art Hobbs officiating. Burial to follow in Elizaville Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 9 PM Wednesday at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mark Doyle, Kirk Flora, Don Latham, Danny Mitchell, Donnie Mitchell, Tyler Mitchell, Brian Ferguson & Barry Manning. Honorary Pallbearers and Flower Girls will be Sherry Latham, Lisa Crawford, Karen Carpenter, Claudia Turner, Judy Flack, Donna Sue Gooding, Paula Flora, Sharon Landreth, Paula Gray, Dana Pant Lisa Conley Rose, Joyce Fidler, and Amy Mitchell Emmons. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
