Betty Ellen Bennett Smith, 87, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, at her home.

Born on March 29, 1930, in Maysville, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Ethel Maddox Bennett.

Betty was retired from U.S. Shoe Factory, having worked in both the Flemingsburg and Maysville locations. She was a loving and outgoing person. She attended the Peebles Pilgrim Holiness Church in Peebles, OH.

She is survived by her nephews, Donnie (Walene) Bennett and Ronnie Bennett (Janet Lester); her nieces, Melody (David) Cracraft, Nanette Bennett, and Kay Bloomfield; her great nephews, Lewie (Faith) Cracraft, Nathan Bennett (Haley), and Zach Bennett; and her great, great niece, June Parker Cracraft. She is also survived by several cousins and a special friend and her caregiver, Connie Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and Lewis Bennett; her sister, Catherine Bennett; and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bennett.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Ronnie Bennett, David Cracraft, Lewie Cracraft, Nathan Bennett, and Zach Bennett.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
