IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brenda
Doyle
December 24, 1949 – January 21, 2025
Hope Brenda Ison Doyle, the beloved wife of Larry Parker Doyle, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, with Larry at her bedside, at the Fleming County Hospital.
Born in Lake County, Indiana on December 24, 1949, Brenda was the daughter of the late Lonnie Ison and the late Mary Skaggs Ison Ferguson.
On July 20, 1967, Brenda married Larry at the Pleasant Valley Christian Church by Bro. Sanford Doyle. Her biggest challenge was keeping Larry going in the right direction and at the right time. Anyone who knows Larry knows what a challenge of labor and love that must have been. Larry will miss her more than anyone can imagine and more than any words can express.
Those who knew Brenda know she was a sweet and kind-hearted lady. She was so much more than a housewife. She was a home maker. She taught herself to prepare federal and state income tax documents, having filed the family taxes for 40 plus years. She taught herself how to be a hair stylist, having cut Larry's hair for 45 plus years. She taught herself how to use the computer many years ago, preparing and maintaining all of the household bill payments. She was an excellent artist.
Brenda taught herself to research genealogy, amassing 12,000 pages of records on many different families from Kentucky and other states. Brenda had researched family records for 40 plus years by going to cemeteries, libraries, and courthouses in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Virginia. Genealogy was a strong passion and she was very good at it.
She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Flemingsburg, Ky.
In addition to her husband Larry, Brenda is survived by her niece, Jeni Brooks of New Carlisle, Ind., along with many cousins and friends.
In addition to her mother Mary and her father Lonnie, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Ison; and her sister, LeAnn Ison Brooks.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, with Bro. Shawn Meade and Bro. Danny Hamilton officiating.
Brenda will be laid to rest in the Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Donald Doyle, Ronald Doyle, Kyle Williams, Joe Ferguson, Jim Hamilton, Steve Fearin, and Dalton Williams. Honorary pallbearers include Harold Stanfield, Randy Fritz, and Robert Taylor.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
In place of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Brenda to the Cancer Care Club and/or to the church of one's choosing.
