Buffey Waynette Strode Rawlings, 46, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Born in Lexington on May 13, 1977, she was the daughter of Wayne and Jeanie Marshall Strode.

Buffey worked as a receptionist for Asthma Allergy and Immunology (AAI) and had worked as a Wal-Mart associate.  She loved to travel, camp, boat, and hike.  She loved to spend time with her family.  In her spare time she enjoyed reading, movies, cooking, and photography.  She attended Burtonville Methodist Church.

Buffey is survived by her husband of 25 years, James T. Rawlings; her two children, Maverick Rawlings (Elizabeth Cox) and Levi Rawlings;  her grandchild, Myles Rawlings; her mother and father, Jeanie and Wayne; her four god kids, Kendall, Brooklyn, Summer, and Colton; her uncles, aunts, and cousins; her special friends, Niki, Fredia, Nisha, Dr. Livas and wife Eleni, Greg and Erin Howard; along with her canine companion, Tillie.

Buffey was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Wilma and Arnett Marshall; and her paternal grandparents, Alvin and Pauline Stode.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Ishmael officiating.

Buffey will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Pallbearers include James Rawlings, Maverick Rawlings, Levi Rawlings, Allen Rankin, Greg Howard, Kenneth Spurlock, J. W. Neal, and Jason Edmond.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
