Obituary

Carol D. Hickerson, 98, of Flemingsburg, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.  She was the widow of William Leslie Hickerson.


Born on March 20, 1920, in Fleming County, she was the daughter of the late Dow and Bertha Ashbrook Boling.


Carol was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother.  She was a long time and faithful member of Family Worship Center.


She is survived by her sons, Bro. Steve Hickerson and wife Linda, Leslie Hickerson, Jr.; her daughters, Alberta Holland, Marcella Haywood and husband Donnie, and Helen Haywood; 13 grandchildren; and several great and great, great grandchildren; as well as her church family and friends.


In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Randy Holland; her sons-in-law, John Holland and Elmer Haywood; her brothers, Winfred Boling, John Boling and Roe Boling; and three infant siblings, Geneva, Alexander and Eric.


Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Harn, Bro. David Hickerson and Bro. Jerry Boling officiating.


Carol will be laid to rest next to her husband in Wallingford Cemetery.


Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday, at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Boone-Nickell to offset funeral expenses.
