Carolyn Ruth Scheffler, 70, of Flemingsburg, KY passed away November 3, 2013 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe.

Carolyn was born January 27, 1943 in Dalesburg, KY to the late Russell Abram and Iva Alice Maddox.

Carolyn was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Evangelical Wesleyan Church, in Dalesburg where she was a devoted Sunday school teacher for 28 years. She was a faithful Christian and had a deep love for and enjoyed being with family. One special thing about Carolyn was her memory of birthdays, anniversaries, dates of special events of all family members and friends.
She is survived by her son Tim Scheffler of Flemingsburg; daughters, Kimberly Scheffler of Georgetown, OH and Tammy Cox of Flemingsburg; grandchildren Courtney Cox (Cody) Faris of Tacoma, WA and Connor Earlywine of Flemingsburg; brothers, Barbour Russell "Bob"(Caroline) Maddox and Charles Douglas "Doug" (Nora) Maddox; sisters, Ida Kathryn Coffey, Virginia Alice Miller, Audrey Grace (Frank) Mitchell, Letha Bernice (Lowell) Tackett; brother-in-law, Gerald (Pat) Scheffler and Charles (Patsy) Goodman; sister-in-laws, Lois Maddox and Carol (Roy) Combs; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She also leaves behind her faithful companion of 6 years cocoa.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald "Ron" Scheffler; brothers Richard Maddox, George William "Bill" Maddox and sisters Mabel Francis McGee and Nancy Kay Hardymon.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Friday November 8, 2013 at the Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Dalesburg, KY with Bro Phil Hessler and Bro. Lyndal Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8PM Thursday at the church and after 9 AM Friday.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Scheffler Family in care of the funeral home.
