Charles Wayne Ishmael, 77, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at his home.

Born in Bald Hill on July 5, 1949, his father was the late Earl Brooks Ishmael and his mother was the late Lucille “Blondie” Planck Ishmael.

Charles was a farmer all his life, he milked for many years and later custom chopped Rye Grass and Silage for many farm. Recently he could be found with Don building fence with Ishmael Fencing. One of his greatest joys in life was his family, he was a loving husband, father, and papaw. Charles was an avid University of Louisville fan and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glenda Woodard Ishmael; his daughter Annette Brown and husband DW and son Don Ishmael; his three grandchildren, Chase and wife Courtney, Morgan and Phillip; and his great grandchildren, Taylor and Harper; siblings Charlotte Fannin, Larry Ishmael and wife Connie, and Susie Shepherd and husband Shep; along with several nieces and nephews extended family and friends.

In addition to his mother Blondie and his father Earl Brooks, Charles was preceded in death by his three siblings, Jimmy, Timmy and Greg Ishmael.

The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., Monday, August 10, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Ike France officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m., until the hour of service at 7 p.m., Monday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.
