Charles Lee “Whistle” Dailey, 76, of Flemingsburg, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Born in Fleming County on July 31, 1949, Whistle was a son of the late Stanley Reeves Dailey and the late Marjorie Shields Jolley.
Whistle was a farmer and a mechanic who worked for R & N Implement.
He is survived by his children, Lisa (Timmy) Swanger, Scotty (Rebecca) Dailey, and Christy (Rodney) Earlywine; his grandchildren, Melissa, Timothy, Amanda, April, Amber, Andrea, Austin, Zachary, and Brandon.; along with his great grandchildren, Sidney, Brandon Jr., Riley, Reece, Wesley, Bailey, Kameron, Chloe, Waylon, and Willow. He is also survived by several siblings; special grandchildren, Gracie and Andrew; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by several of his siblings.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, at Boone Nickell Funeral Home Bro. Gerald Saunders officiating.
Whistle will be laid to rest in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Timmy Swanger, Rodney Earlywine, Scottie Dailey, Zachary Earlywine, Austin Earlywine, Brandon Earlywine, T.J. Swanger, and Andrew Hopper.
Visitation for Whistle will be 5 p.m., until 7 p.m., Thursday, April 9, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
