Charles F. Ward, 72, of Goddard, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Friday, May 24, 2024, at St Claire Regional Medical Center.
Born in Lexington, Ky. on October 17, 1951, his father was the late Ersil P. Ward, and his mother was the late Mary Esther Faris Ward.
Charles was a lover of the land, known as a cattleman and a Master Farrier. He loved his family and community and spending time with them. He loved his calls with his granddaughter, Emma Grace to sing "Happy Birthday". He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Charles is survived by his two daughters, Alice Faye Garner and husband Matt of Lexington, and Emily Marie Ward of Denver, Color.: his granddaughter Emma Grace Garner; his sister, Marian Ruth Elam and husband Fred of Wilmington, Ohio; his two nieces, Mary and Sarah; along with numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Ersil and Mary.
The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Conley officiating.
Charles will be laid to rest in Muses Mills Cemetery.
W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 will be performing military rites.
Pallbearers include Steve Fearin, Jarrod Fritz, Tracy Glascock, Tony McGlone, Daniel Howard and Nathan Bainum. Honorary pallbearers include Danny Doyle and Jimmy Faris.
Visitation will be 12 to 2 p.m., Sunday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
In place of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Charles to the Muses Mills Cemetery (C/O Jim Compton, 3832 Muses Mill Road, Wallingford, KY 41093) and /or Goddard Cemetery (C/O Bernice Plummer, 1905 Craintown Road, Flemingsburg, KY 41041).
