Charles Brice “Charlie” Emmons, 85, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026, at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was the widower of Carol Luman Emmons.
Born in Poplar Plains on July 12, 1941, Charlie was the son of the late Roy Emmons and the late Josephine Hurst Emmons.
He was a devoted member of his church, the Family Worship Center and loved spending time with his family. Charlie loved the L. A. Dodgers and the Detroit Lions. He was a lifetime farmer who had worked as a truck driver and in maintenance for Family Dollar Distribution Center.
He is survived by his four children, Jody (wife Michele) Emmons, Chuckie (wife Brooke) Emmons, Shawna (husband Mark) Florence, and Cheryl Hunt; his 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Jeremy, Dustin, Chris, Shawn, Tiffany, McKayla (Ben), Brayden, Jayden, Lauren, Madison, and Courtney; his 19 great grandchildren, Jase, Ella, Shyann, Oliver, Tanner, Tayln, Casion, Jasmine, Julia, Jordan, Braylon, Kyler, Sayma, Isaac, Lucas, Everleigh, Dakota, Ryker, and Kaseton; along with many extended family members and friends.
In addition to Carol, his wife of almost 50 years who passed in 2025, his mother Josephine and his father Roy; Charlie was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Gregory; his two sisters, Bonnie Jean Denton and husband JW and Betty Jo Corbin and husband Jim.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. David Hickerson, Bro. Adam Gulley, and Bro. Kevin Hickerson officiating.
Charlie will be laid to rest in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Jayden Emmons, Brayden Emmons, Dustin Hunt, Jeremy Overbey, Jordan Harn, Kevin Hickerson, Mark Florence and Ben Bush. Honorary pallbearers include Mike Dailey, Tommy Corbin, Jimmy Corbin, and Billy Joe Denton.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Saturday, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.
