Christine Applegate, 81, of Wallingford, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at her residence. She was the widow of Clyde N. Applegate.
Born in Whitesburg, Tenn. on January 30, 1943, her father was the late Palmer Pryor Taylor and her mother was the late Geneva Oney Taylor.
Christine enjoyed quilting, reading, puzzle books, and spending time with special friends. She worked at U.S. Shoe Factory in Flemingsburg and Vanceburg where she retired as a supervisor. She was a member of the Flemingsburg Baptist Church where she enjoyed many church activities.
Christine is survived by her sister, Linda Manning and husband Scott; her brother, Terry Taylor and wife Brenda; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her husband Clyde who passed in 2002, her mother Geneva, and her father Palmer, Christine was preceded in death by her brother, Philip Daniel Taylor.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the Flemingsburg Baptist Church with Pastor Trent Keeton officiating.
Christine will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Jerry Judd, Jeff Vice, Brandon Armstrong, John Lamb, Jerry Kesterson, and Hayden Kesterson. Honorary pallbearers include Kenny Dunaway, Katie Keeton, Kelsey Taylor, Christie Kesterson, and Hannah Kesterson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, at the church located at 1856 Elizaville Road, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
