Christine Burton Moore, 90, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026. She was the widow of Albert Lewis Moore.
Born in Magoffin County on December 18, 1935, her father was the late Lucian Burton and her mother was the late Audra Adams Burton.
Christine worked with her late husband for many years on the farm, milking cows and raising tobacco. She also worked at U. S. Shoe. After retiring she became a very devoted caregiver for several Fleming County residents, many times giving 24-hour care and remaining with most until their passings. Later in life, Christine enjoyed music, bingo, and going to McDonalds with friends. She attended New Creation Praise and Worship Center until her stroke in 2016.
Christine is survived by her daughter, Joan Crump and husband Fred; her son, Albert Keith Moore; her six step grandchildren, Kristi (Ken) Geier, Kathy (Mark) Sanders, Truitt (Sonia) Crump, Troy Crump, Heather (Danny) Crump, and Tyler Clary; her seven step great grandchildren; her one step great, great grandchild; her two sisters-in-law, Jeanie Burton and Karen Burton; a special niece, Rhonda Pettit Hawkins; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by Albert, her husband of 40 years who passed in 1992. She was also preceded by her five siblings, Ersie Pettit and husband Vernon, Carson Burton, Phillip T. Burton and wife Kathleen, Marvin Burton and wife Brenda, and Larry Burton; along with her son-in-law, Fred “Fritz” Serwna.
The funeral service will begin at 12 noon, Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Hawkins and Rev. David Barnett officiating.
Christine will be laid to rest beside her late husband in Fleming County Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m., until the hour of service at noon, Saturday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.
