Connie Jo Dugan, 73, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born in Fleming County on April 10, 1951, her father was the late Clyde Emmons and her mother was the late Viola McKee Emmons.
Connie worked as an instructional assistant for 20 years in the Mason County School System. She had worked at U.S. Shoe Factory for 15 years and had also worked for the Sears Catalog Store. She was a member of the Foxport Baptist Church. She loved to travel with her family and loved spending time with her granddaughter. She loved her family and God. She never had an unkind or harsh word about anyone or to anyone.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Don Dugan; her daughter, Madonna McElfresh and husband Gene; and her granddaughter, Callie Jo McElfresh. She is also survived by three of her siblings, Melody Barron and husband Walt, Eddie Emmons and wife Debbie, and Keith Emmons and wife Janet; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends; and special family friend, Vicky Dwelly.
In addition to her mother Viola and her father Clyde, Connie was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Emmons Hill, her brother, Bill Emmons; and a special niece, Vicki Shannon.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Foxport Baptist Church located at 2094 Foxport Road, Wallingford, Kentucky 41093. Pastor Harry Meadows will be officiating.
Connie will be laid to rest in Wedonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Ronnie Shannon, Clay Marshall, Tim Ritchie, Roy Hylander, Keith Emmons, and Eddie Emmons. Honorary pallbearers include Barry Dillon, Allen Kielman, Bob Eggleton, and Vicky Dwelly.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg, Kentucky 41041. Additional visitation will be at the church on Wednesday morning, starting at 9 a.m.
