Danny Lee Helphenstine, 73, of Cincinnati (formerly of Flemingsburg), passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at Edith Lane at Cincinnati West. He was the widower of Kathy Ann Berry Helphenstine.

Born in Fleming County on April 13, 1953, his father was the late Oscar Helphenstine, Jr., and his mother was the late Gertrude Hunt Helphenstine.

Danny had worked for the city of Flemingsburg for 22 years in the Street Department.

He is survived by his son, Brian (Bridgett) Helphenstine; his five grandchildren, Bryson Dean Helphenstine, Ethan Lee Helphenstine, Tierra Tully, Mikayla Cox, and Mikina Cox. He is also survived by his sister, Connie (Jackie) Williamson; along with many extended family members and friends.

In addition to Kathy, his wife of 48 years who passed in July 2023; his mother Gertrude; his father Oscar; Danny was preceded in death by his son, Chris Helphenstine in 2017; and his brother, Keith Helphenstine.

The funeral service for Danny will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 12 noon, until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg.

Danny will be laid to rest privately.
