Darrell Glenn Willis, 69, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Fleming County Hospital.

Born in Fleming County on July 3, 1955, his father was the late Clinton Willis, Jr. and his mother was the late Eliza Ann Lyons Willis.

Darrell was a retired Wal-Mart employee after nine years of service. He had also worked for Graham Lumber as a yard worker and had been a Lumber Grader.  He proudly served his country in the United States Marines.

He is survived by his longtime companion of 28 years, Penny Sotherland; his three sons, Jason (wife Lesliey) McKee, Joe McKee, and Frank McKee; his seven grandchildren, Andrew (wife Beverly) McKee, Skyler Emmons, Joshua McKee, Johnathan McKee, Jarred McKee, Carrie McKee, and Jackie McKee; his four great grandchildren, Ryker Grigson, Lainey McKee, Zyllyn McKee, and Zander McKee.  He is also survived by five of his siblings, Denver (wife Sue) Willis, Cordis Willis, Beverly Willis, Susan Shawley, and Mary Lane Bowling; along with several nephews, nieces, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his mother Eliza and his father Clinton, Darrell was preceded in death by four of his siblings, Velma Homebrink, Naomi Schiegel, Lowell Willis, and Lloyd Willis.

Honoring Darrell's wishes, he will be cremated.

A memorial visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home. Military honors will follow with  the participation of the  local  American Legion and VFW.

Darrell will be privately laid to rest in Prince Cemetery.
