David D. "Dave" Ritchie, 92, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024, at his home.

Born in Bourbon County on May 30, 1931, his parents were the late Hobart and Mae Moreland Ritchie.

Dave was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Norma Joyce Maxey Ritchie, who passed away in 2015, whom he married in 1951.

Dave came to Flemingsburg when he was 17.  He owned and operated Dave's Inc. since 1955.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He was a member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church.

In addition to his wife Norma and his parents Hobart and Mae, Dave was preceded in death by his four brothers, Hobart Jr., Kenneth, Randall, and Billy Joe Ritchie, and his sister, Patsy Allen.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Charles) Colgan and his son, Tim (Phyllis) Ritchie,  both of Flemingsburg;   his grandson, David (Heather) Kegley of Winchester, Ky.; his two granddaughters, Angie (Jeff) Helterbrand and Megan (Eric) Mays of Flemingsburg; his great grandson, Justin Helterbrand; his great granddaughter, Mackenzie Kegley;  his great-great grandson, River David Helterbrand; and his sister, Dolly Ritchie of Cynthiana.

The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Jesse Hickerson officiating.

Dave will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park.

Pallbearers include David Kegley, Jeff Helterbrand, Justin Helterbrand, Eric Mays, Darrell Lamar, Donald Dugan, Larry Foxworthy, and Ronnie Littleton.  Honorary pallbearers include Angie Helterbrand, Megan Mays, Mackenzie Kegley, Heather Kegley, and River Helterbrand.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell, located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, KY 41041.
