Delbert Denham "Del" Wade, 73, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at his home.
Born in Maysville on August 22, 1949, he was the son of Jewell Dickson Wade and the late Delbert Wade, Sr.
Del was retired after working many years in the produce departments for Save-A-Lot, Jerry's IGA, and Dugan's Produce in Flemingsburg, as well as Overbey's Grocery in Ewing. He was an avid University of Louisville basketball fan living in a family of avid University of Kentucky fans who loved him dearly.
In addition to his mother Jewell, Del is survived by his brother, Wayne Wade and wife Kathy of Frankfort; and his aunt, Dorothy Dickson Jolly of Flemingsburg. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Cindy (husband Kevin) Hinson, Lori Ann (husband Will) Moree, Donald Argo, Matthew Argo, Daphne Wade, Steven (wife Rachel) Wade, Melissa (husband Darian) Turner, Christopher Wade, and Stephanie (husband Chad) Eckman ; his many great nieces and great nephews; and his former sister-in-law, Brenda Myers Childers.
In addition to his father Delbert, Del was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred "Buddy" Wade and wife Diane; and his sister, Brenda Wade Argo and husband Donald.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Manning officiating.
Del will be laid to rest in May's Lick Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Steven Wade, Zachary Hawkins, Ayden Hawkins, Billy Castle, Chad Eckman, and Christopher Wade. Honorary pallbearers include Tommy Manning, Mike Manning, Ted Purcell, and Darian Turner.
Visitation will be 12 p.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell.
