Delbert Ray Rigdon, 77, of Flemingsburg, passed away Tuesday June 24, 2014 at The Life Care Center in Morehead, KY.
Delbert was born May 21, 1937 in Fleming County to the late Ollie and Verna Jordan Rigdon.
Delbert was a retired farmer and carpenter / painter, he had worked for the Flemingsburg Lumber Company, Sloan's Painting and Colgan Construction Company. In his younger years Delbert loved to fish, and he never met a stranger he would always greet you with a kind word and conversation. When he was able he attended the KY Christian Holiness Church in Flemingsburg.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Thelma Jean Lee Rigdon; grandchildren Ashley (Candace Richmond) Rigdon and Amber (Dale) Eddington; great grandchildren Brooklynn Paige and Dale Craig Eddington III; daughter-in-law Lisa Rigdon(Mike) Vise.
He was preceded in death by a son Michael Rigdon; his parents and brothers Earl, Leonard and Virgil Rigdon.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Sunday June 29, 2014 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Clay Miller and Rev. Norman Wasson officiating Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 - 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Alan Rigdon, Mike Vise, Ashely Rigdon, Dale Eddington, Harold Himes and Eric Mitchell will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Works, Dale Craig Eddington III, Henry Cropper, Fred Flora and David Lee.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
