With hearts full of cherished memories, we announce the passing of our dearly loved mother, Della Frances Fearin Fields, a beacon of warmth and kindness who touched the lives of all who knew her. Her infectious laughter, unwavering support, and love for family and friends will forever remain in our hearts.
Della Frances passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Hospice of Dayton, at the age of 85. She was the widow of Hershel J. Fields.
A fiery, freckle-faced redhead that had so much love and adventure for the world, Della Frances will be remembered for her passion of Jesus, her beautiful spirit, and the joy she brought to every moment. She leaves behind a legacy of love, acceptance, friendship, and compassion from her unwavering faith and lifelong commitment to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born in Lewis County on April 2, 1939, her mother was the late Anna King Fearin and her father was the late Archie Fearin.
Della Frances is survived by two of her children, Herschel Thomas (wife Wendy) Fields and Vickie (husband David) Vanderhorst; her three beautiful grandchildren, Austin James Trusty, Hailey Frances Vanderhorst, and Amelia Lee Ann Vanderhorst; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to Hershel, her beloved husband who passed away in 1985, her mother Anna, and her father Archie, Della Frances was preceded in death by two of her children, James Harley Fields and Kenneth Lee Fields; and her five siblings, Kenneth Fearin, Jessie Fearin, Thomas Fearin, Artha Mae Morgan, and Joyce Fearin.
The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Watson officiating.
Della Frances will be laid to rest in Esham Cemetery
Visitation will be 12 p.m. noon, until the hour of service, Sunday, at Boone-Nickell, located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
