Dorotha R. Barile passed away on September 19, 2024.  A loving wife and mother, generous and hospitable to all she met.

She will be missed. She was born on August 1st, 1930 in Flemingsburg, KY and married to Joseph N. Barile of Mamaroneck, NY in August 1954.

Dorotha was in the Air Force and attended college at Tempe, AZ.  While in service,  she worked with zone interiors and overseas assignments/Korean War. She was known as a "WAF" a women in the Air Force and her name is on the Washington Monument for service at war time. She also received a good conduct medal. Dorotha left the Air Force after marriage and lived in both Mamaroneck,  NY and finally in White Plains, NY.

She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows School and Church. She worked 7 ½  years cashiering at A&P Tea Co. Grocery Store. After leaving there, Dorotha worked as the Bursar for New York Presbyterian Hospital located in White Plains, NY for a total of 22 ½  years. She loved her job and the people she met along the way.

Dorotha was the daughter of Della B. Turner and grand daughter to Sarah E. Hysong Turner. Dorotha had an older brother Jefferson Grant Emmons who predeceased her. Dorotha was aunt to 7 girls and 1 boy in her family.

Dorotha has 2 children, Mary Ann Grunenthal and her husband, Steven, of  Spotswood, NJ  and Joseph Michael Barile and his late wife, Kim, of Laredo, TX.  Dorotha has two wonderful grandchildren, Matthew and Stephanie; two terrific great-grand kids Tyler and Peyton, who Dorotha will miss dearly.
