Dorothy Jean Harmon Ramey, 92, of Hillsboro, widow of Alvin Ramey, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday March 22, 2015. Jean passed peacefully at her home with her family by her side.

Jean was born July 26, 1922 in Fleming County to the late Cornetta (Nettie) Tribby and DD Harmon.

A retired farmer, Jean worked hard all of her life with her husband and son's. Jean made a many of meals for all the work hands that came and went, everyone loved her cooking and her famous sweet tea. Jean was a longtime member of the Locust United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter Deloris Ramey Flora: sons Bill (Donna) Ramey, David (Kathy) Ramey, and Jimmy Ramey; 10 grandchildren Lisa Jackson, Ricky Ramey, Debbie (Randy) Williams, Jodey (Erin) Ramey, Chase & Colton Ramey and their mother Robyn Ramey, Mark (Rita) Henderson, Shelley (Jimmy) Jett, Kelley Ramey; 3 great grandsons Brandon Williams, Shae Henderson and Austin Henderson; 8 great granddaughters Savanna (Tyler) Frederick, Elli & Addi Ramey and their mother Jodi Ramey, Keitha Henderson, Megan (Chris) Ingram, Morgan Jett, Taylor Jett and Katie Jett; 1 great great granddaughter Annaleah Frederick; sister-in-law Martha Harmon and a very close family friend Aleta Smith.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Nettie Mae Ramey Flora, grandson Larry Wayne Flora, 2 brothers Rev. Demmitt and Clifton Harmon, and a sister Lola Pierce.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday March 25, 2015 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Gaylord Gillispie and Pastor Gail Skaggs. Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 9 Tuesday at the funeral Home.

Ricky Ramey, Jodey Ramey, Chase Ramey, Colton Ramey, Shae Henderson and Austin Henderson will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Williams, Randy Williams, Tyler Frederick, Hayden Smith, Kyler Smith and Jeffrey Harmon.
