Earline Wyatt Hall Spencer, 99, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025. She was the widow of Henry Noel Spencer.
Born in Poplar Plains on April 18, 1926, Earline was the daughter of the late Caleb Wyatt and the late Jessie Purvis Wyatt.
Mrs. Spencer was a member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church. She was employed by Wright's Hardware for over 44 years, as secretary and bookkeeper. Along with her late husband Henry, Mrs. Spencer was a farmer and longtime breeder of Thoroughbred horses.
Mrs. Spencer is survived by one of her sisters, Paige Wyatt Fawns and husband Bill; her beloved nieces and nephews, Steele (Ava) Hinton, Susan Hinton (Steve) Vice, Diane Applegate (Terry) Popp, Stephen (Jill) Applegate, Kevin (Tanya) Applegate, Taylor (Robin) Fawns, Wyatt (Emily) Fawns, Dayna Spencer (Mike) Seelig, and Tony Kinder; along with several great and great, great nieces and nephews, and friends. She is also survived by some very special friends, the Brown and Edmond families who were caring neighbors for decades that came to her aid whenever needed, Sam and Juanita Lewis who came to her rescue whenever there was a household problem, the staff of El Caminante who adopted her as part of their family and gave her special attention, Christine Stitt, a frequent companion, and her special caregiver, Barbara Gregory.
In addition to her husband Henry, her mother Jessie and her father Caleb, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Maurice Clay Hall (who died in the Battle of Okinawa on June 9, 1945); her three sisters, Elmira Mertes, Lois Hinton, and Jo Ann Applegate Colliver; her three nieces, Mary Beth Hinton Kinder, Janet Hinton, Joan Mertes Gay; and her two nephews, William Wyatt Mertes and Gregory Applegate.
Mrs. Spencer requested a private graveside service to be held at later date.
