Eddie Frank Wallingford, 75, of Ewing, peacefully passed from this life at his home surrounded by family on Thursday, July 7, 2022.
Born in Lewis County on March 17, 1947, he was the son of the late Frank Wallingford and the late Sarah Bessie Lee Mason Wallingford.
Eddie was a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years. He was an avid farmer who also loved hunting, fishing, and spending many Friday and Saturday nights at the local trap shoots. Eddie was a self-taught taxidermist who loved being able to preserve the beauty of nature and wildlife. He had a deep love for riding and showing Tennessee Walking horses and Spotted Saddle horses which he shared with his family as the owners of Wallingford Stables in Ewing.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judith Ann Hollar Wallingford; his two daughters, Melody (Michael) Clary and Monica Wallingford (Rob Gray); his sister, Ada Wallingford Hollar Haywood; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his three brothers, Walter, Earnie, and Harry Wallingford; his four sisters, Carrie Margaret Gee, Goldie Frances Black, Rosie Myrtle Cooper, and Alice Florence Staggs.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
Eddie will be laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Billy Wallingford, Marty Wallingford, Mark Wallingford, Callie Haywood, Jr., Rob Gray, and Michael Clary. Honorary pallbearers include Wayne Mason, Amos Bolar, Johnny Wallingford, Eddie Thomas, Rick Lawrence, and Dick Gray.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
