Eddis D. Hester, 81, of Wallingford, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center.  She was the widow of Douglas Hester.

Born in Fleming County on December 10, 1942, her father was the late William Harrison "Buster" Galligher and her mother was the late Ollie P. Downey Galligher.

Eddis is survived by her daughter, Lori Perkins and husband Ted; her granddaughter, Victoria Lynn Hester; her two great grandchildren, Landon Johnson and Lyria Johnson.  She is also survived by her two sisters, Dulcie "Jackie" Kirby and Scottie Brown and husband Sy; her daughter-in-law, Tracy Hester; her six nieces and three nephews; and her sister-in-law, Betty Carver and husband Charlie.

In addition to her husband Douglas who passed in 1996, her mother Ollie and her father Buster, Eddis was preceded in death by her son, Douglas D. Hester in 2008; and her brother-in-law, Joe Kirby in 2024.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Eubanks officiating.

Eddis will be laid to rest in Ramey's Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Ronnie Thomas, Justin McCord, Bobby Withrow, Van "Doodle" Alexander, Mike Soister, and Gary Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers include Charlie Carver, Brett Summers, Sy Brown, Marty Brown, Robert Gooding, Chad Kirby, Christian Soister, and Billy Joe Kirby.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell, Located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
