Elsie Jewell Colgan, 89, of Flemingsburg, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Pioneer Trace Nursing. She was the widow of Stanley Colgan.

Born in Fleming County on February 26, 1933, she was a daughter of the late John Osel Gulley, Sr., and the late Maggie Lantern Gulley.

Elsie was a good Christian lady who loved children.  She was a special sister and a favorite aunt to her family.

She is survived by five of her siblings, Eunice Rigdon, Robert Gulley, James Leonard Gulley, Johnny Franklin (wife Diane) Gulley, and Kenneth Edward (wife Debbie) Gulley; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; extended family members and friends.

In addition to her husband Stanley and her parents Osel and Maggie, she was preceded in death by four of her siblings, John Osel Gulley, Jr., Chloe Mae Morgan, Mary Frances Hester, Howard Thomas Gulley; and two of her sisters-in-law, Imojean Gulley and Lois Gulley.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2022, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Boling officiating.

Elsie will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Monday, at Boone-Nickell.
