Emery Richard "Bud" Whisman, 93, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, June 8, 2020, at the Hospice of Hope Care Center.  He was the widower of Leona Jean Thurman Whisman.

Born in Fleming County on November 4, 1926, Bud was a son of the late Russell Whisman and the late Carrie Bates Whisman.

Bud was a lifelong farmer and mechanic who owned and operated Whisman Garage.

He is survived by his daughter, Diana Whisman; his grandchildren, Monica Lewis, John W. (Davetta Doyle) Lewis, Brandon T. (Lacy) Lewis, Jana (Daryl) Provo, Katie (Ashley) Stamm, and Amanda (Kurt) Edds; and his 14 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, James Whisman, Clayton Whisman, John (Carol) Whisman, and Alberta Baldridge; and his sister-in-law, Mary Whisman.

In addition to his wife and his parents Bud was preceded in death by his son, LeRoy Whisman; his brother, Marvin Whisman; his sisters-in-law, Wilma Whisman and Ruth Whisman; and his brother-in-law, George Baldridge.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2020, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.

Bud will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.

Funeral service will be private.
