Enos Lawton Cooper, 70, of Poplar Plains, passed away Tuesday May 28, 2013 at Fleming County Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born August 27, 1942 in Poplar Plains to the late Enos & Nettie Honea Cooper.

Lawton was retired from GTE in 1992 after 25 plus years of service. He also had worked in real estate as an agent and auctioneer. He was a member of the Fleming Masonic Lodge #112 in Flemingsburg, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Glenn Cooper and Warner "Eggie" Cooper.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years Linda McIntyre Cooper; special nephew Dennis Ray (LaShonda) Cooper of Poplar Plains, KY; a very special great niece Emily Ray Cooper, who was a joy to him and always made him smile; special sister-in-law Debbie Cooper;
3 Sisters Joyce (Howard) Fischer of Cold Springs, KY, Nancy Powell of Flemingsburg, KY, Laura Denton of Flemingsburg, KY; brother Joe "Dopey" Cooper of Poplar Plains, KY; Several Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday June 1, 2013 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home with Howard Fischer and Rev. Norman Wasson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Masonic Rites will be at 7PM Friday. Pallbearers will be Donnie Carpenter, Doug Vice, Marty Vice, Steve Hammond, Dave Clark, Jewett Hyatt, Jerry McCloud and Danny Shrout. Honorary pallbearers Tommy Vice, Ronnie Spencer, Ricky Pendland, Roger Spencer. In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to the Cancer Care Club (PO Box 189 Flemingsburg, KY 41041).
