Ethel E. Gardner, 95, of Tilton passed away Monday evening March 28, 2011 at Fleming County Hospital. She was born December 7, 1915 in Silver Creek, Wisconsin to the late William & Ida Geske. She had been a cook at Hillsboro Elementary School, worked at Lerman's in Flemingsburg for 18 years, been a foster grandparent at Hillsboro Elementary for 9 years and been a caregiver for the elderly. She was preceded in death by her husband Woody Gardner, a son William McElwee, a sister Evelyn Glenn and two brothers Williard and Elmer Geske.

Survivors include:

Son: David and Ruth Ann McElwee of Decatur, IL

Daughter: Mary Ann and Ricky Pendland of Tilton, KY

Granddaughter: Kerri Lynn Pendland Moran of Tilton, KY

Other Grandchildren: Rocky, Jennifer, Scott, Sherri Lynn, Leigh Ann, Tresha Kay, Evelyn L. and Sondra
18 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Friday April 1, 2011 at Boone - Nickell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery.
