Leona Faye Conn Gooding, 74, of James Road in Wallingford, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Robertson County Health Care Facility, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Elliottville on July 19, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Ronald Earl Conn and the late Ruth Gladys Stafford Conn.

Faye was a faithful member of the Wallingford United Methodist Church.  She loved nothing more than going to church and being with her brothers and sisters in Christ.  Whether the job was great or small in the church or in everyday life, she wanted to be useful and always in service for Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie F. Gooding; her two daughters, Rhonda Gooding Strunk (husband Steve) and Cristy Gooding Staggs all of Wallingford; her seven grandchildren, and her seven great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister, Linda Kaye Rayburn; her two brothers, Leroy Conn (wife Angie) and Ronald "Ronnie" Conn (wife Wanda); her daughter-in-law, Angela Cropper Gooding; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Wayne Gooding and her brother, Orville Ray Conn.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2021, at the Wallingford United Methodist Church with Bro. Charlie Hamm and Rev. Cindy Baker officiating.

Faye will be laid to rest in Hurst Cemetery on James Road.

Pallbearers include Ryan Lamkin, Christopher Gooding, James Gooding, Joshua Gooding, Aaron Lamkin, and MacKenzie Staggs.  Honorary pallbearers include Steve Strunk, Leroy Conn, Ronnie Conn, Clifford Jones, Mike Wagner, and Mark Wagner.

In compliance with state mandate, masks are required for those in attendance of all services.
