Floyd L. Collins, 71, of Flemingsburg, KY passed away Wednesday Morning October 16, 2013 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Floyd was born in Fleming County on September 23, 1942 to the late Fred and Gertrude Collins Marshall.

Floyd was retired after 42 years of service from Fleming - Mason RECC where he had worked as a lineman and crew leader. He was a very active member in Flemingsburg Baptist Church.

Floyd loved sports, he was a little league baseball and basketball coach and had inspired many young people in Fleming County. He loved watching his Fleming County Panthers and the Kentucky Wildcats compete in any sport. Floyd was a avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He just loved being in nature.

Floyd had many wonderful friends and was loved by all that knew him. His smile was contagious and will not soon be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bill Collins

Floyd is survived by his wife of 50 years Patsy Rose Collins; daughters: Angie (Mike) Kendrach, Mary Dan (Chris) Haney ; son: Derek (Megan) Collins; granddaughter: Harper Leigh Collins; Sisters: Jackie (Billy) Corbin, Eda (Ronnie) Earlywine, June Tatum, Judy Allison & Vickie Meade; several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday October 19, 2013 at Flemingsburg Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Beckham, Rev. BJ Donahue and officiating. Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 9 PM Friday at the church.
