Frances Wilson Carpenter, 82, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday August 23, 2014 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.
Frances was born January 14, 1932 in Robertson County to the late Jesse Lamoine & Rhoda Orme Wilson. In 1937 the Wilson family moved to the Mount Carmel area, Frances spent the remainder of her life in Fleming County.
Frances was a 1950 graduate of Fleming County High School. She was a 40 plus year employee of the Farmers Stockyards as a clerk and the last 18 years she was a bookkeeper. After her retirement from the stockyards she spent 17 years as a cashier at Ken's New Market in Flemingsburg.
Survivors include her loving daughter Rhonda (Larry) Glascock; a dear son Danny (Karen) Carpenter all of Flemingsburg, KY; grandchildren Tracy (Becky) Glascock, Brittany (Justin) Rees, Rebecca (Jamie) McGinnis and Patricia Danielle (Chris) Kenney; great grandchildren Lauren & JD McGinnis, Danielle & Clinton Glascock, Jaxon, Kaden & Ashby Rees; siblings Howard (Faye) Wilson of Mason County, KY and Harold (Martha) Wilson of Tompkinsville, KY; special niece Frances Denise Wilson and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years Ronnie, who passed on April 6, 1994, her son RB Carpenter Jr. who departed this world on August 31, 1996 at 29 years old and a sister Rose Mary Himes.
Services for Mrs. Carpenter will be Tuesday August 26, 2014 at 1 PM with Bro. Steve Hickerson and Rev. Clint Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Wallingford Cemetery. Visitation will be after 7 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Tracy Glascock, John L. Wilson, Justin Rees, Jamie McGinnis, Chris Kenney, Mike Gifford, Wayne Brown and Charlie Cotton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Hope or the Wallingford United Methodist Church.
