Gail Claypool Hinton, 89, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.

Born in Goddard on October 28, 1936, her father was the late Charles Preston Claypool and her mother was the late Dora Helphenstine Claypool.

Gail worked as bookkeeper at Jabetown Mill for 20 plus years, office manager for Dr. Fidler and Dr. Gehring’s office, an operator for GTE, and a secretary for the Kentucky Highway Department. She was a member of the Goddard Methodist Church.

Gail is survived by her daughter, Shane (Lonnie) Brewer; her two grandchildren, Taylor Cox and J. W. Cox; and her great grandchild, Kiale Brewer; her two special nieces, Tamara Gail Hale and Rhonda Coffey; her four stepchildren, Frank L. (Paula) Hinton, Janie Lands, Elaine (Donnie) Logan, and Jenny (Ferman) Perkins; several step grandchildren and their families, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother Dora and her father Charles, Gail was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Frank Hinton who passed in 2014; and her six siblings, Charles P. Claypool Jr., Helen Franks, Mable Rabe, Maxine Fox, Marvin Claypool, and Betty Towriss.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. James Ray Hickerson officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Thursday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.
