Wallace Eugene "Gene" Wright, 73, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.

Born in Rowan County on July 16, 1950, his parents were the late Calvin and Gloria Bragg Wright.

He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator.

Gene is survived by his three stepchildren, Jessica Atkins, Allison (Monty) Williams, and Kevin (Tasha) McCarty;  his 14 grandchildren, Esmariah (Gavin) Lawrence, Caleb (Danielle) Wright, Dillon Wright, Cheyanne (Austin) Cassidy, Destiny (Lucas) Earlywine, Tyler Bays, Jesse (Laney) Bays, Matt (Rachel) Bragg, Kody (Celeste) Crouch, Jacob Williams, Leanna McCarty, Aiden McCarty, Brecken McCarty, and Bella McCarty; his eight great grandchildren, Gunnar Lawrence, Canyon Lawrence, Jason Wright, Chloe Wright, Easton Cassidy, Emma Cassidy Carter Bragg, and Braxton Crouch.  He is also survived by his sister, Janis Jordan of Ohio; along with multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents Calvin and Gloria, Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Wright; his son, Jason Clay Wright; and his brother, Randy Wright.

Services for Gene are being privately cared for by Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.
