George Emmett Horton, 77, passed away peacefully September 19, 2016.
George was preceded in death by his siblings: De Loris Wallace, David Horton, and Barbara Moren.

George is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maxine McIntire Horton; siblings: Julian (Bobbie) Horton of Flemingsburg, Billie (Bob) Jones of Flemingsburg, and Dorothy Dalton and the late Bob Dalton of Savannah, Georgia; along with extended family.

George attended Morehead University and worked in sales at Henry Vogt Machine Co. George also owned rental properties.

His life revolved around God, country, family, and friends. George's faith was the basis of his principles and values. George was an avid tennis player.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, Septmeber 22, 2016 at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road Louisville, Ky.

Visitation will be held from 9 am to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Flemingsburg Christian Church with burial in the Fleming County Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
